A few doors up hill from the Hidden Lounge, I remember this 1960s conversion of an older building as a very good second hand bookshop then a launderette, now of course a cocktail / wine bar with pretensions. The opening hours on social media and even their door appear to be aspirational and it does Jeremy Clarkson’s Hawkstone tosh so you may decide to go up the hill 10 yards to the Little Ale House or a bit further to Paradise or Starling or across the road for expensive Timothy Taylors in Tap & TukTuk (!).

We were going to call in here on Sunday night, but it was totally empty at 9:30, we couldn't even see any staff, so we left it.
