I’ll leave the review in part to CAMRA but that said the location is a townhouse above Oxford’s lovely Covered Market (where there are now some worthy drinkeries), looking out over the High, one of the city’s grandest promenades.
I arrived at around 9.50pm on Sunday, an hour and forty minutes prior to closing. Entering without greeting, I made my way up the multiple rambling floors without seeing a single customer and indeed without even spotting a member of staff.
I decided to leave, having noted that the place was heaving the night before.
