A shop conversion on the busy High Street ,often a multicultural market,the slatted blinds in the window restrict both viewing the punters drinking and the amount of natural light inside but I pressed on with trepidation and was richly rewarded for my fortitude.
The interior has a banquette in the left window,bar stolls,some small high tables along the right wall with impressive and original glazed tiling on the wall and a larger rear section with a long bench seat in green leather,circular tables and a glazed tiled fireplace with an old fashioned elecric fire well restored to full function on a cold day.There is a door here to quite a large beer garden.
The soundtrack was perfect,original blues and some early soul at background volume.
The barman was very friendly and talked me through the excellent indie beer keg selection ,while initially I chose from the 4 handpumps which were offering an Ascension wild cider and red grape cider mix,Pig & Poter ESB,The Kernel Small Pale Ale and an excellent Ossett x Amundsen Chocolate Stout 5%,NBSS 4.5 ,Value at £5.50.
16 craft taps were offering two Budvar lagers,Lindemans Kriek,a sparkling cider,two beers from Anspach & Hobday,one from Villages just around the corner,a DIPA from Beak,two from Floc,and 1 each from Deya,Gouden ,The Kernel and a Stiegl alpine lager. There was Thomas Hardy Ale barley wine at 11.3% ,£7.10 the half.Finally I coundn't resist Pastore Double Crumble Apple,Blueberry,Maple Sour 7.5% ,£5.40 the half.
Great cask plus a fantastic tap selection expertly curated with a vast range of ABV's ,this is a must visit treat when in Deptford and was must top crawl venue,surpassing the Dog & Bell.Go there and enjoy ,next time I'm in for a long session.

Single room bar with a reasonable sized outdoor area to the rear. This place feels quite dull inside but is is handily situated on Deptford High Street and it does offer some fairly unusual cask ales and an extensive craft beer selection.

Opening isn't until 3pm during the week (1:30pm at weekends) but the pub seems to have attracted a fairly loyal local following with quite a few regulars congregated at the bar by the time we departed.

The 3 cask ales on when we visited yesterday were Marble Rocket, Ideal Day Banks of the River & Orbit Hakata Red Ale. The fourth handpull was clipped with Lilley's Fire Dancer. Meanwhile, craft beers listed on a board to the side of the bar, were Villages Rodeo, Anspach & Hobday London Black, Two Flints Santiago & Dripping in Eggers Special, Phantom Pickle Party, Deya Steady Rolling Man, Beak Parade IPA, Pressure Drop Ja! & Gameplay, Tartarus Yeti & Pastore Double Crema Dream Cake.

A single room shop conversion with mostly barstool height seating throughout.Pretty much set out as a craft bar with 16 keg taps of A list brewers there are also two handpumps, these were occupied by two craft brewers that are now more than toe dipping in the cask sector, Verdant Penpol and Deya Steady Rolling Man which if a beer can be perfect this was it, superb quality and of course beer, I also had a keg beer from The Kernel, Tropical Stout, also top notch.
A revisit here is a certainty.
