Spotted this place whilst on my way to the Picturehouse Cinema Finsbury Park recently and so popped here prior to getting a train from Finsbury Park. It is a large and from the look of it quite newly constructed premises as part of the big developments around the station. Inside it is an L-shaped venue with the bar down the left-hand wall and bench and tall circular tables around the rest of the venue, including some booth style seating along the wall facing the large glass front onto the thoroughfare outside. There is a raised seating are in the far-right corner of the venue. High ceilings and exposed metallic ducting and piping so definitively that sort of industrial vibe. Music was loud, a bit too loud in fact, so I don’t know how the many here using this as a workspace on their laptops would maintain their concentration. There is a small terrace area out the front. Also a pizza take away point inside the front door and a kitchen the other side of the bar, inactive on my visit.
Beerwise it is just keg with an average sort of offering. Lagers spotted were Heineken, Moretti and their own branded Someday lager - how can you be taken seriously these days unless you have your own branded beer. Two cider's (Inch's and a flavoured one from Old Mount) plus Guinness, Brixton Session IPA and two from Five Points (Pale and Jupa).
Main thing today was it was a nicely cool (and dim) refuge from the heat outside. With the Five Points Pale also going down a treat I was even prepared to overlook the overloud music. Am sure the place will do well given its modern vibe and proximity to FP station and will surely pull the crowds in on match days. To me there are just more interesting venues in the N4 postcode area, and the lack of cask makes this place average at best.
