As described below, this is a small micro based in a pair of former cottages in the characterful and leafy castle part of Leicester, hidden away from the main drag and therefore usually frequented by De Montfort Uni staff and students alongside a small band of ITK-ers. It’s a couple of small dark rooms downstairs plus one via a rickety staircase plus a small side garden. GBG listed, has a fairly fixed set of cask beers on Titanic PP, TT Landlord and something from Leatherbritches alongside some craftykeg options and a few things in the fridge. I’ve only ever drunk Plum Porter in here and invariably found it to be in great shape. There’s upmarket sandwiches and pies available though given they’re left out on the side all day, I’m not sure if I’d chance one on a warm summer’s evening tbh. Well-worth putting on your Leicester itinerary – it might look a bit detached from the centre but it’s only five minutes or so from the Blue Boar. 7.5

A micropub with a couple of tiny rooms that become quite intimate when busy. It seems, going on previous reviews that they stick to the same cask beers in Landlord, Titanic Plum Porter and Charnwood Salvation, I had the later which was fine but not a particularly interesting selection overall, however the keg craft keg selection looked better.
It was worth the visit and I wouldn't be adverse to a return sometime.

Interesting spot in the centre of the city, with this micro-pub created from a pair of old brick cottages on a block-paved street leading into the historic former castle grounds. Not a lot seating in the compact bar area or side room, so even a smallish group can fill the place. Landlord, Charnwood's Salvation (£6.00 with a packet of peanuts) and Titanic Plum Porter available on handpump, with a few craft keg beers too.
