The Jolly Sailor is a lad’s sports bar and club with large televisions throughout that were airing Paralympics during a recent Wednesday evening visit. Some booths run up the right-hand wall from the entrance to the counter that faces high tables and stools to the left. Behind the counter, in the right left rear, is a pool room and there’s a DJ booth on the rear wall, this place is open until 4am Fridays and Saturdays. The limited draught selection is standard keg alongside Madri. The service was polite, but there were only two other customers, both not long out of school. Unfortunately I’m a bit old for these sort of places now.

Modern Sports Bar with a large interior having 6 flatscreens dotted about on mute on my trip ,bar to the back right,with high tables opposite.At the front right are some sofas then a series of low back small banquettes in grey while the muzak comes from a local radio station blaring out mindless crap.Outside it says real ale available and indeed you can see a solitory clipped handpump from the street but at the bar I was told this was not available which is a real con,the clip should be reversed.
I opted for a half of Carling at £2.35 while the rest of the keg options were the usual mulinational brands ,so boring.
Avoid this place at all costs,it deserves to fail.
