You can see that this used to be an old fire station, in fact Google Streetview still shows the fire station in situ from pre 2020 with red left and right shutters and yellow keep clear emergency vehicles lines on the driveway. The shutters are still there, although they’ve been painted black, and the drive has been part cobbled, although emergency vehicle yellow paint is still visible on the road. A floor to ceiling glass conservatory has been added over the cobbles to the front of the right shutter which adds a lot more space to the interior where a central round serving counter can be found. This counter surrounds a central wooden barrel from which 14 taps emerge for the pouring of craft keg. There are also three hand pumps with Crossed Anchors Bitter Exe and APA being available while the line on the third was being cleaned. The concrete floor is painted red, I imagine from its service days, and bench seating runs up the right and across the rear to high table in the left-hand side. The vast majority of seating had been reserved for the seemingly popular Wednesday evening quiz, but my visit was a bit before the 18:30 reserved time so I had the pick of the seating. I found this to be a friendly bar that was a nice spot for a pint of Bitter Exe on a recent Wednesday afternoon.

A decent sized place with their brewing equipment over in the far left hand corner and a full circular bar area in the center of the place. This was constructed from pine, with all their craft keg beers dispensed from taps around an old timber barrel. Three handpumps on the bar with two in use serving their Crossed Anchors Top Sesh and Devon Steam Gold.
Lots of artifacts from the fire station on display and a wall glass front room with seating was a popular destination with the locals. Our two beers Sesh and Devon Steam Gold were fairly flavourless and didn't warrant a second one. A good selection of craft beers, which were popular with the younger crowd.
