The former Fly-In Bar is now called the Hummingbird.

It is a bar/restaurant located in the terminal building of what is the oldest airport in the UK. The terminal building itself is a fabulous art deco building.

The Hummingbird was very busy on my Tuesday lunchtime visit. A mostly elderly clientele were there having lunch. With no tables available inside, I ended up sitting outside, from where you can enjoy a drink whilst watching the coming and goings at the airport itself, whilst admiring Herstmonceux Castle and the South Downs in the distance.

Handpulls have been removed from the bar, leaving just a keg selection - Harvey's Wharf IPA, Black Stout & Gold Bier, Amstel, Moretti & Inch's.

It's £2 to park outside the terminal building for an hour, but luckily for me, the meters were out of service.
