A large shop conversion handily situated on the supertram platform. Painted in a soothing blue, with benches and low stools around the tables to the left, and high chairs and tables to the right. The hand pumps are not immediately apparent on entering as they are lined up on the left hand edge of the bar counter: six of them, with a cider and five beers on at the time of our visit. There's a blackboard listing these and five craft kegs. (See photos.) Almost all the beers were pale, with just Brew York Maris the Otter having any darker ambition. I went for that one and also Five Points XPA. This was in very good condition (NBSS 4) whereas the bitter was only just NBSS 3, and fairly boring too. I think I prefer this new micropub to the original Beer House on Ecclesall Road, but not to the extent of making frequent revisits in the future; for those living in the immediate vicinity though it's a definite improvement in choice.

Another dark-painted bar, but nicely furnished and pleasant enough. The sight of a row of keg taps did not reassure me, but sideways on the other side of the bar was a good set of 6 handpumps, with beers from the likes of Cloudwater, Feckless, Full Circle and Marble. Apparently 4 of the keg taps offer guest crafty stuff also. Helpfully located on the Sheffield-bound tram platform and another useful addition to the Hillsborough drinking scene.

New micropub, to add to the burgeoning Hillsborough beer scene. Sister venue to The Beer House on Ecclesall Road. Currently scheduled to open 27.05.23, at 5pm.
