Blue Scrumpy left this review about bod
Part of a chain of pubs run by Titanic Brewery, this is the Cheshire branch of bod, located in a large imposing building, which initially has the appearance of a former church but was in fact a solicitors. It opens at 9am each day and is first and foremost a cafe, rather than a pub/bar.
From the front, you enter the building up some steps. However, there is also a ramp for those less abled. Once inside, the bar and cafe counter is in the right-hand section of 3 distinct areas. There is some foliage draped over the bar and from the ceilings in this area. A few locals were gathered with a friendly dog in the window of this section.
We chose to sit in the middle area. There are bare boards throughout. Walls are tongue and groove panelling with some turquoise paint. Music was playing and the whole atmosphere was quite noisy with some fairly poor acoustics. The section to the far left-hand side is a conservatory extension.
Titanic beers regularly on are Plum Porter, Iceberg & Steerage. Everard's Tiger is also a regular. Guests for our visit were Titanic White Star & St Austell Proper Job. There are also some keg taps on the far right-hand wall, which were dispensing lagers as well as Titanic Anytime IPA & True Stout & Signature Backstage IPA, in addition to Inch's & Old Mout ciders.
The cafe serves coffees and milkshakes, as well as various food options such as cakes, sausage rolls, salads and pizzas. Children are allowed in until 8pm and the bar hosts a quiz night. To the front is a large patio area, whilst there is a car park to the rear of the building.
This was the second branch of bod I've been to, after a visit to the one on Stoke railway station last year. This branch is much bigger but felt more like a cafe than a bar. It would have been nice to have seen some more adventurous cask ales rather than the Titanic staples. I'm still yet to take to this chain.
