Blue Scrumpy left this review about Black Bull
With the Bay Horse having closed, the Black Bull is the only remaining pub in the village of Great Smeaton. It is just a few cottages up on the main A167.
Inside there is a small bar area, with a pool table in one corner and a larger dining area. But it's all open plan. Apparently Dick Turpin was once imprisoned under the games room section here, which was where we chose to sit.
A few locals had congregated near the bar, whilst a couple of diners had arrived, as it was early evening by the time we reached here.
Theakston Best Bitter & Pennine Hair of the Dog were the 2 real ales. Whilst I was overcharged by the barmaid, this was soon rectified, after querying.
At the rear is a small, secluded garden area and the pub car park.
