Housed in the former Coventry Evening Telegraph building is Forme & Chase which is a hotel bar open to guests and the general public, such as myself on a recent Monday late afternoon. Limited premium keg was available alongside Brewdog’s Wingman which I had recently at Gatwick, so I decided to have half a Staropramen, which I expected to be more than £2.85. The seating and décor is plush with a nod to the previous century, but I was grateful to find a plug socket to charge my phone. The service was polite, but I’m the wrong side of 70 to fully appreciate the ambiance.
