One of a couple of brewery taps on this trading estate and several in the wider area, this occupies the premises formerly used by Left Handed Giant until they relocated just around the corner in to larger premises. We visited as part of the East Bristol Brewery Trail, and although the tap room is open at other times, the range of beers and facilities that we found may be greater than is usually the case.
On our visit, both the “Brewery” and “Tap Room” doors were open, with the brewery offering a small keg selection as well as the chance to look around at the brewing equipment. As a result of this separation, the tap room is a little less industrial than some of it’s nearby counterparts perhaps, but nonetheless is still fairly utilitarian with red screed on the floor and whitewashed breeze block walling. The bar counter had some colourful and very abstract artwork as a backdrop, and above this was a small selection of brewery merchandise for sale, such as tee shirts and baseball caps. A few picnic style benches were off to the right and there were a handful of pot plants and other foliage dotted around as well as a small selection of board games on a shelf in the corner.
The current beer selection was inked on a scroll of paper roll next to the bar, although it wasn’t clear which were cask and which were keg. On this occasion, the available options were A Little Light Therapy (hazy pale), Eternal Sunshine (Citra pale), Ladders (New England IPA), We Are (Kveik pale), Leading Lines (American Brown), Light Darkness A Balance (Baltic porter), Switcheroo West Coast IPA), Maybe Tomorrow (pale) and Internal Monologue (stout). The solitary cider meanwhile was Iford Wild Juice which went down very well.
