real ale bar opposite the market, serving mostly their own brewed beers. Not bad and reasonably priced, the venue is basic though intimate and plenty of banter going around. Barmaid was mute and, to put it politely, i’m not sure hospitality is her calling. I don’t get the hype about this as a venue, but it is nice to get local brewed beers and the locals are inevitably friendly.

As the name says it’s the tap for Ben’s brewery, located in a shop conversion in the market almost directly opposite the Bob Inn. It has a pallet wood and industrial interior with cable tray and Edison lights, and a fair amount of seating. The toilets and a drinking terrace are on the first floor.

Another excellent place in Chorley. This town is well worth a visit as is this place. Very woody inside with chillers full of bottles and cans and 6 hanpulls on the bar. Barrels are located behind the bar. A good variety of styles on offer that will please both cask and craft drinkers. A staircase to the side goes somewhere (toilets possibly) 0but I didn't check it out.
