Former shop, long and thin with seating on three levels, tables and chairs on the first two and taller stools at drinking shelves in the higher rear level, there are some screens on the lower parts. There is also a dart board up on the higher level, one wall has a montage of old photos. Stairs lead up to a roof garden - closed on my visit. The counter is on the lowest level where you enter and yes there is a small penny farthing hung on the bar back, it’s equipped with just ordinary UK kegs on a couple of T-Bars. The gents has strange graffiti. Pleasant enough but the staffing level is woeful.

As Mr Hearty mentions this was originally Coopers kitchen and hardware shop but now is a smart spacious bar that seems quite larger than the outer facade suggests.Behind the large bar is a replica of the penny farthing plus other arctifacts and memorabilia. The room goes back a fair way and is on 3 levels. There was no cask beer but did have 8 keg pumps plus a good selection of bottled beers. Worth a visit.

New bar and restaurant, opening 02.12.21. The bar is themed on the heritage of Cooper Kitchen, who invented the first ever Penny Farthing with a suspension system.
