The Andwell Brewery lies in a rural location down a country lane off the A30. The Taproom itself is to the rear of the brewery.
The interior feels a little like a cafeteria, which doesn't make for a relaxed drink. There are a couple of counters. One serves as the bar, with the other holding spirits, a coffee machine and cakes. On the other side of the room are shelves containing the brewery's various bottled wares. A babbling stream can also be seen through large windows at the side. There is a narrow outside terrace, which can be used when it isn't raining, such was the case on my mid winter visit.
Most of the draft beers were on keg, with the solitary cask beer being the Andwell Porter, which tasted fine, but was fairly lifeless.
Customers were a strange mix of young mothers with their babies and some more hardened real ale drinkers.
I wouldn't be averse to a return visit here. But it's a bit out of the way and was disappointing compared to what I had expected.

Situated on the brewery site down a small country lane close to the A.30. The Taproom itself is more akin to a cafe and indeed there were two or three groups of familys in sitting at the canteen style tables drinking not beer but coffee aided and abetted with slices of cake. I was amazed to find no handpumps at the bar or any sign of cask at all, five or six keg beers from Andwells including their Sunny Republic craft range was available along with some bottled choices, I tried a pint of Sunny Republic Red Bus, not good, I wish now I'd gone for the coffee and cake. How this place has found itself in the 2022 Good Beer Guide confounds me but then the local CAMRA types tend to go jelly kneed at anything local. Needless to say this is not for me.
