This is a quite newly opened branch of the American “dive” bar chain in London adding to the venues in Waterloo and Fitzrovia. Lest you be in any doubt it is very American sports themed! The large bar is on the right hand side as you enter and it stretches back a good way with the kitchen behind. There are lots of closely packed tables with some green leather banquettes around the perimeter of the front and left hand sides, lots of screens dotted around the place. Goes without saying plenty of screens showing American sports, no chance of these being tuned into Homes Under the Hammer here! There is a pool table out the back along with a shuffleboard table.
Drinks are all keg, with a balance between London brewed beers and US beers. From the other side of the pond were Pabst Blue Ribbon, Yards Philly Standard and Kona Big Wave Golden Ale. Good selection of Brit craft beers including the Yunkling from Mondo, Sambrooks Pagoda, their own branded session pale, Sambrooks Bloc Party, Dennis Hopp’r from Mondo, Sambrooks Lazarus and W8 Cider. Good range of US bottled beers also.
The venue was a nice dark and cool sanctuary for 30 mins from the heat outside. Not really a big fan of American sports so can’t see myself here again unless invited by American friends in the area. It is close to the US Embassy so could imagine it picks up a decent trade from there. Feels a bit of a trek from Nine Elms station with no obvious direct route through the multiple building sites. Actually discovered on way back there is a foot tunnel - 6 mins back to NE v 18 mins on way out.
