Ainsdale doesn't have a brilliant range of pubs. So, it should be applauded that this micropub has opened in a parade of shops next to the railway station.
The pub has a couple of rooms. Locals were scattered around the main front bar on our Saturday afternoon visit. So, we had to retreat to an overflow room at the rear to find a table. Although, there was nobody else in this room. A TV was showing Sky Sports News and music was playing.
On the bar, there are 3 handpulls but as with Rob's visit in the spring, there was actually only 1 cask ale on. This was Front Row Sin Bin, which wasn't in the best of condition. Salt Alpacalypse was the craft beer option and I seem to recall 3 fruit ciders from Old Mout. There was no real cider.
We'd got off the train specifically to come here, but I'd have to say that we should probably have just stayed on until the next stop. But you have to try these places. By the way, the nextdoor bakery does not appear to open at weekends.

A pleasant two roomed bar, a bit like an extended micropub, converted from an electrical store. The bar is in the front room and there's a larger room to the rear. There's a small seating area outside at the front. It was sunny, so we sat at the front. The only cask ale available was White Rat. The barmaid assured me that they usually have at least one other beer available as well. The White Rat was in decent nick though. There's a bakery next door where you can order food and eat it in or outside the pub.

This micropub is quite handy as it's close to Ainsdale Railway Station and has a bakery next door if you fancied a bite to eat. Plenty of seating out front with slightly limited space inside around the front bar area. I believe there is another seating area out the back, but l didn't notice this, as it wasn't clearly displayed. Three ales on handpump, Salopian Lemon Dream, Team Toxic United Nations of Chinook and Bier Head Liverpool Brewing. I went for the Team Toxic which was a well flavoured 5% beer.
