Looking and signed from the outside like your normal craft bar it is actually a bit of a scam by Greene King. Entering all is normal with pallet wood lining the walls then some fake stone wallpaper, but what’s this a Peaky Blinders poster. As you were, it’s actually tongue & groove painted to look like pallet wood, that’s weird. Then you approach the rear right counter and there’s a couple of hand pumps but only one clipped and it’s…….gasp Old Golden Hen; I wouldn’t have minded a craft favourite thick hazy NEIPA, well how about a Cruzacampo or a lovely Beira Moretti instead? Perhaps you’d enjoy this Level Head IPA from err….Greene King. Even the pump clip collection is beers from Bury St Edmonds but does remind you of the havoc GK’s brewery buying spree caused. There’s an upstairs as well but I didn’t bother.

Recently opened smart and quirky craft ale bar with a friendly and welcoming team of bar staff.Although downstairs is slightly on the small size there is an upstairs area with a decent seating area. There was only 1 cask beer on show (Lancaster Blonde) but there was quite a few craft beer and cider taps plus a fair selection of bottles. On the next floor at the top of the steps on the left there is a good sized area and to the right just around the corner a smaller area. There are lots of unusual wall decorations including a selection of Vinyl LP records plus an excellent mural of Accrington adorned with a plethora of world famous people throughout the ages not dissimilar to the album cover of the Beatles Sergeant Pepper record. Luckily the artist was there and put us straight on anyone we could not recognise. Certainly worth a visit if in the area. This one has now been added to our Saturday afternoon Accrington pub crawl.
