Funny place, I assumed it’d be a trad micro but actually it’s some sort of stab at a continental-style bar - quite mimsy and full table service. There is a pubby feel to it but is rather stilted, much like the service and clientele, who were all communicating in whispers. There are menus on each table printed on thick brown card - the bulldog-clipped cards proclaimed four cask which were all a bit samey so I plumped for a keg TQ Beerworks Stout which wasn't that great really, slightly cheesy and alkaline taste; a poor brew or on far too long? Whilst the idea itself isn’t a bad one, it feels like it isn’t being executed quite right – a pub is a place for fun and relaxing and this place had neither on my visit. I'd give it the benefit of the doubt and stick to cask next time.
