The Courtenay, Teignmouth

There were a handful of locals propping up the bar in the Courtenay when I visited early on a recent Thursday evening. A couple of these were having a row, but the loud uplifting trance music easily drowned out the cursing. To be fair the friendly barmaid did eventually ask them to leave and I was given no grief from any of the customers.
There is minimal seating around the bar area and the most of the seating is up a couple of steps to the left of the bar. To the right of the bar are some steps that go down to a couple of sofas and tables along with a pool table, dartboard and plasma screen. I didn’t spot any advertisements for Sky Sports or any upcoming events.
Standard draught is available from the bar and one of the two hand pumps was unused leaving Teignworthy’s Old Moggie as the sole ale option.

This is not one of the better pubs of the area and I would walk by if passing again.
