Being in the area for a meet up at one of the other new build bars which have sprung up as part of the redevelopment of this part of Kings Cross, I decided to pay this one a visit.
Perhaps it’s a question of timing and if you are just visiting for their range of craft beers, an after work Thursday visit on a dark drizzly November evening may not be the best time as my experience was more in line with Mr Scrumpy’s below.
The place was packed out with a fairly young clientele, a lot of whom were eating the burgers and you did get more of a sense of it being a kitchen rather than a bar. And at night this place is bright, very bright, and quite mauve with light sources coming at you from every angle. Along with the luminescent signs and multiple spotlights are the two large display beer boards, which positively glow on the back wall behind the bar. At least this means there is no problem reading what is on the twenty so taps and I will concur the range is very impressive and provide a good mix of breweries, styles and strengths. I went for A little Faith from Northern Monk, a hazy IPA at £7.00 a pint which was very drinkable. The only issue was that the only table I could get was by one of the large front windows and it felt like I was drinking it in an illuminated gold fish bowl.
Perhaps it’s a different story on a bright summers lunchtime, but I didn’t greatly warm to this one, despite the impressive craft ale offering.

If you like craft beer, this is undoubtedly a place where you are likely to find something different. The range is very good. However, this place felt much more of a restaurant/cafe to me. Burgers cooked from an open kitchen at the right-hand end looked and smelt very tempting, but we were here for the beer.

The full selection of beers (all craft) was Pohjala Sun City, Trial & Ale A Saison Apparent, Deviant & Dandy And The Beat Gose On & Ghost Town, Standard Brew Co. Table IPA & #004, Track Sonoma & Made In The Shade, Northern Monk A Little Faith, Deya Steady Rolling Man, Fermenterana Hoppy Friends, Wiper & True These Days, Three Hills Co-Ordinates, Brew Point Ink Well & Beak Jurgen.

I would certainly come back here and try the burgers if I was looking for something to eat, or would also come back for a drink if I was passing. But it lacks the atmosphere of a pub or bar. So, I couldn't feel comfortable having a session here.

Having been tipped off by PSM's excellent review below,I popped in while passing and enjoyed the experience. His internal description says it all, there were 18 keg beers on offer together with a sparkling cider. The beer spanned the ABV range and styles with lager, sour, saison,IPA,porter and even Saltaire Triple Chocoholic avaiable. My schooner of Irish sourced Whiplash A Distance in You at £5 was a fine 6% IPA.Cans and bottles available in the fridges, food from a short burger menu including vegan friendly.
Modern interior yet friendly service ,this is a great example of what's avaiable in craft beer and I will be back for a longer stay next time.Very close indeed to the Regents Canal.
