Called in here a couple of weeks before it closed. For a micropub it's loud and full of sweary people, not a good look. Only 1 of the teo handpumps bsgded, but my pint was in decent shape. Ms CAMRA really didn't like it and neither did Simon (ex landlord of the Baum). I wasn't keen, so we drank up quickly and left.

This is a cafe bar in a shop conversion, rather than a micropub, as it has just two hand pumps and eight keg fonts selling mainstream products. Luckily the sole real ale was local Brewsmith Pale Ale, not a beer that I can recall drinking before. It was pale, all right, but with a surprisingly bitter finish, so I enjoyed it. There were a dozen or more regulars, some of whom included me in their conversation, but came a little closer than the distancing guidelines stipulate, despite the fact that I was sitting at a separate table. Ah well, I don't seem to have come to any harm, and I had an enjoyable visit here.

Walked by today, there are two hand pulls for cask ale but they were both unclipped. On that basis it's probably safe to assume real ale is not always guaranteed to be available.
