This micropub in Barnard Castle is a must for real ale lovers It is closed Mondays but opens every other day 4pm and 2pm Fri Sat Sun. Bar downstairs with a good seletion and a room upstairs. We stayed a while on 20 July as there were some good beers to enjoy. Tirril Windermere pale ale, Tirril Eden Valley pale ale, McColls Petite Belgique, 3 Piers King Orry, and Taylor Illingworth Coal Yard were all enjoyed and we were sad that a Roundhill beer had just finished as we got there. Friendly staff and locals.
