My first visit to this "large and trendy urban style bar", as Ray has described it below - can't imagine why I've never been before. I had a strange experience just before going in through the door. My drinking companions had preceded me and I was taking a photo from the corner when a car pulled up and the driver leaned across, calling to me through the open window: "are you after real ale?". I confirmed that I was. "It's not much good in there", he kindly informed me, and drove off. I thought, I'll be the judge of that, but thanks anyway. Entering through the front door there are some steps down to the main bar area, where I could see two hand pumps. Theakstons Old Peculier was on one, and Sharps Twin Coast on the other. The OP was in pretty good nick (NBSS 3.5), and one of my friends tried the pale beer, as he's not into dark ones on the whole, and seemed happy enough with it. We had been kept waiting to be served, as the only person behind the bar was on the phone; as it turned out her boss had phoned her. I told her she should have just said "customers waiting" and put the phone down - that's what I would have done. He can talk to her all he likes, but she won't be taking any money across the counter while he's doing so.

A large and trendy urban style bar, that had only been open for one week on our visit. This bar gets its name from the tin work factory, that once stood on this site. That was redeveloped and is now called the gateway plaza. References to the tin factory can be seen in the form of a fabulous display of tin work donated by some of the locals. All displayed on a shelved unit opposite the bar, consisting of biscuit tins, sweet tins, tobacco tins etc. There was also a large photo sized mural depicting the interior of the factory in it's heyday. Beer wise, two cask ales on handpump, which were Bradfield Farmer's Blonde and Abbeydale Moonshine. Both of which were in pristine condition, so we ended up staying longer than anticipated.
