A surprisingly modern and trendy place (given the age of the building it is in) which acts as the brewery tap so had a great selection of their beers but no guests. Having said that, the cask range was very much on the blonde/IPA side of things with just the Joshua showing a little colour, but I suppose that is the current way of things. Anyway, it is good for the beer but the place itself did nothing for me.

Will Larter left this review about The Ilkley Tap
Probably the best beer I've had in a brewery tap, because sometimes the brewer's skill set is not the same as a cellar man's. My half of Olicana - not just locally brewed, but a local hop - was excellent (£4.80/pint). The bar counter seems very efficiently laid out, with 10 hand pumps in front and a similar number of keg taps on the back. I warmed to this pub a little more than the place round the corner, possibly just because the latter has a pretty stupid name, making this one seem more genuine. And also because the background music here was entirely unknown to me and therefore less annoying. But mainly because the beer is so good. I could have saved myself a lot of walking by missing out the other nine pubs on my research trip.

Old Boots left this review about The Ilkley Tap
The main bar is housed in a side extension to a Victorian villa with a seating area and restaurant (Stuzzi) up a short flight of steps to the left. A long thin bar with the counter running down the left hand side, seating at high stools is available at a shelf down the right side. There are also a couple of casks used as tables by the front door. Eight pulls with possibly the full Ilkley cask range, 12 keg taps on the back wall with Ilkley plus guests and Guinness and a cider. Decor is limited to a graphic of the brewing process on the right hand wall. Beer was obviously very good as its a brewery tap, apart from the dodgy seating and a weird smell, it was a fairly good drinking experience.
