All keg offering. Their own beers were the Talus Pale Ale, the Witbier, the Festbier, the crisp Craft Lager, the Baltic IPA, the New Zealand Pale Ale, the Peachy, the XPA Nitro, Totally Tropical pineapple and grapefruit lager and the Session Pale Ale. Guest beers were Guinness, Inch's, the Volcano IPA from Barney's Beer, the Leith Pils from Campervan and the Session IPA from Stewart Brewing.
Decided to try as very different from the other planned venues on my Edinburgh Central visit. In an impressive town house at one end of the Grassmarket. The bar counter and bar area is immediately to the left of the entrance. Concrete flooring with a patterned tile skirt and a drinking ledge opposite the bar counter served by some attractive leather backed stools. Past the bar counter there is a single booth table on the left, and a long, tall table opposite served by tall stools on one side and a banquette on the wall side. The room opens out in the rear with a mixture of booth tables and banquette along the right-hand wall and rear wall serving a variety of tables. There was a marble table in the centre of the room with an open (gas) fire feature, and the sides of the long rectangle were served by tall stools. Low dark ceiling with suspended lighting and several large screens on the rear wall showing recorded footy action. There is an upstairs bar closed for a party on my visit and a roof terrace providing good views of the castle. It is what it is and not a serious rival for many of the traditional establishments on my trip here.

Cold Town Brewery bar with a grand old exterior but for me a disappointedly less characterful interior. Keg only.
