The split-level laminate floored Goat has seating across the front floor to ceiling windows before some steps up to the bar area where a stool lined exposed brick counter to the left faces a piano and table up the right. I didn’t venture into the rear, but it looked like more of the same seating, just a larger area. The counter supports six keg fonts that were pouring premium lagers alongside Guinness. This is a café bar, so the menu had things like burgers, toasties and jacket potatoes. It was reasonably busy with ten or so other Saturday afternoon customers, but this may have been due to the Dorset Arms over the road being closed. The guy serving was very friendly and there was a chilled atmosphere, but for me to consider eating here they’d have to sort out the mouldy ceiling, especially above the entrance which isn’t a great look.
