A suburban dining pub, probably 1930s built but opened out massively with uniform seating in every part - light green leatherette bench seating around all the walls and light grey leatherette dining chairs filling the spaces around the plastic laminate tables. No real ale, so I had a half of Guinness. Loud background music in the modern r&b style, very loud and very repetitive. Sports TV screens everywhere - this pub only scored as high as 4 because it was not a Saturday in the football season. The people who enjoy coming here would probably not recognise my sort of pubs as pubs. Different worlds.

Formerly the Royal Oak a long long time ago. Now a family friendly gastropub. Large open plan and rather garishly done out. The old traditional feel of the old Royal Oak has long gone. Fizz-u-likes are your beers. I didn't check out the back so don't know if the old bowling green is still there.
