Decided a visit was in order, particularly as the brewery had organised a festival featuring 14 of their ales. Seating was principally outside, so I was glad to grab a bit of shade on a warm afternoon.
Naturally, the ale was in tip-top condition, with a range of styles and ABVs. The brewery draws a regular crowd who are happy to discuss the merits of the various beers.
As noted previously, mobile phone reception is patchy, but there is Wi-Fi. It's a couple of miles walk along a quiet lane from the bus stop in Mannings Heath, or a longer and potentially muddy walk from Horsham.
While I'm not the biggest fan of Kissingate beers, I enjoyed my afternoon in and out of the sun, so I can see myself returning in future.

Situated on Church Lane Estate, a random collection of small industrial units a few miles outside Horsham, the Kissingate Brewery has a slightly unpromising first appearance: a lower floor of breeze blocks topped with dark weatherboard. The entrance, through a suburban hallway to the right of the brewery entrance itself, leads to a staircase to the offices and an area that looks like it would be for dining or functions, with a view over the brewing equipment. To the left of the stairs is the brewery with a couple of small bar counters, one to the right and the other to the left which is just outside the barrel store or stillage. The member of staff who I had interrupted, causing him to change in an instant from brewery worker to cellarman or barman, was very friendly and helpful. Having tasted the beer of my choice to make sure it was ready (other were available) and poured me a half (as I was cycling), he was happy to discuss the other beers and their availability. They make deliveries themselves, so the beer doesn't travel a great deal outside the local area, except for the occasional distant beer festival. I asked about the strong mild, Blackeyed Susan 6.8%, which was advertised on the board beside the bar: it is also available in bottle, so I took one for later, at the bargain price of £3.80 - very nice it was too. There are several places for sitting, but as it was a pleasant morning I went and sat outside where I could keep an eye on my bike, and where there are various plastic seats and wooden benches, just in case a coach party materialises. If planning a visit, please note the opening hours which are the working day rather than pub hours.

Brewery taproom situated in dense woodland down narrow lanes. Functional but plenty of seating if you want to linger and sample everything on offer. Open working hours and Saturday mornings but ring ahead if you're travelling far, it may be closed for a function, indeed that's why I was there.
Note no mobile reception, your sat nav might get you lost, like mine did.
There are a number of decent pubs around here, this is worth including if you're touring the area, helps if you're not the one driving - but there are soft drinks available if you are. It would also make a good walking destination.
