Strongers . left this review about The Vine
The Vine is very much a basic local’s boozer that had a small, but boisterous crowd in during a recent midweek evening visit. In the left hand side is a pool table and in the right is an L-shaped bar counter that runs up the left wall. This isn’t a very big place so seating is maximised by utilising the knee high window ledges as tables and benches. There was some background music playing and the television was off. The bar supports standard keg and the two hand pumps were drawing Dartmoor’s Jail Ale and St Austell’s Tribute. I spotted a sign boasting that this is the ‘1st pub in Devon’, I’m not sure what it is the first pub in Devon for. It’s certainly not the oldest, and it’s not even the best in this road. Maybe it’s the 1st pub in Devon to put up a ‘1st pub in Devon’ sign? The service was polite, but I’ll leave this place to the locals in future.
