Part of a chain of bars owned by Titanic, this one can be found in a former waiting room on Platform 1 on Stoke station. As previous reviewers have said, the bar is split into a platform side and a street side. We had just arrived off a train and chose the busier platform side.

The drinking space is fairly small on either side. A screen in the corner displays both the train times and also local bus times. Although buses are currently in diversion with major roadworks outside the station.

There are six handpulls with 3 Titanic beers double-clipped - Iceberg, Plum Porter & Steerage. Keg beers are served from the back wall of the bar. They included Titanic Anytime IPA & True Stout, Signature Backstage IPA & Exale Krankie Iron Brew Sour. Ciders were Inch's & Old Mout.

We'd pulled into the station around midday and quite a few of the customers in bod were having coffees and teas, as opposed to beer. We ordered the Steerage, which was in a pretty poor condition. The two halves we ordered were almost certainly the first ones off.

Of 13 Potteries pubs we visited yesterday, I thought this was the worst. It's convenient for a quick drink on arrival or just before getting onto a train, but I wouldn't rate it as a destination pub.

Visited back in September. Six hand pulls, all of which were clipped, although some were duplicated, leaving a choice of four different ales.

When in Rome and all that, I went for the Titanic Plum Porter, at £2.20 for a half.

It was fairly quiet at the time of my visit so the barrier between the two halves didn't bother me, but if one side was rammed and the other empty, I imagine it could be quite frustrating for those on the cattle side without a ticket to get through.

I'd happily go back anyway.

It is a pity that the station at Stoke on Trent has ticket barriers, unlike Sheffield, for example, where it is permitted to exit the station via the Sheffield Tap. Here, Bod is divided in two by a mini-checkpoint Charlie, or at least it was at the semi-rush hour when I was here. There were fewer beers on the bar than other Bods I have been to, but at least this had the benefit that my half of Titanic Steerage, while not to my taste, was in very good condition.
