Down a few steps to a quasi-cellar bar. No cask (two empty pumps) and card payment only so sacked it off in favour of getting a swift one in Hindley.

Subterranean dive bar,it's quite dark and felt dank with no customers inside on a Wednesday early evening.There are some keg taps on a back wall but no beer menu and I couldn't make out what was on offer.Of the two handpumps only one was dispensing the ubiquitous Doom Bar but bizarrely someone had added tasting notes to the handpump extolling it's virtues.
Although the young owners acknowleged my entry ,I made my excuses after stating that I was looking for decent real ale.
Not worth the bother from what I could tell.

public bar of the Old Courts music venue which was open but deserted when I walked past this afternoon. two handpumps that are perhaps used when the place is busier.
