Impressive conversion from the old Taff Fechan Water Board Offices and you'd be forgiven for thinking you'd walked into the town's Spoons at first glance. Done to a high spec inside with light wood, carpet and patterned tiling with light brown and beige being the main colour scheme. Falls apart at the bar though with a single pump sporting a reversed clip and nothing but (an admittedly wide range of) macro keg brands. Given the place is sandwiched between Spoons and the Rhymney pub I suspect they don't see the point of a cask ale. Service was polite and a new barmaid coming on shift was pointed to me as being the next punter to be served. It's a neat conversion and was already filling-up 12.15pm including a number of the old boys watching the horse racing. For the record, I made do with a half of Madri. Worth a nose if you wash-up in Merthyr and I preferred this to the Spoons, which was scruffy.
