a huge dark pub that is sure to do very well in this rapidly regenerating (gentrified) area. nicely decorated and Dubliners on the stereo but in truth that’s where the Irishness ends. it’s basically a huge place for Wetherspoons style unsociable drinking. Nicely done though and good for a quiet drink of the Plum Porter. all things considered, probably the best in this area (which I am not particularly impressed by, despite the hype)

A total of £2 Million has been spent on this excellent conversion at the Cains Brewery site. This one is the third in the chain and by far the largest and named after the owners great Grandfather who was a renowned bare knuckle fighter called Punch Tarmey.
Cannot add much to Mr Bundy's detailed review and must agree this is a massive place that has a capacity of 1000. Was quite impressed with the island bar half way down the pub that had tiling inlayed at both ends. There was also a couple of other interesting features near the toilet area, one was some old machinery and the other was what seems to be an old well about 100 foot deep which has a glass cover which you can stand on and look down.
Could not get enough of this place and ended up having 3 pints of the Titanic Plum Porter. Without doubt worth a visit even if it is to see the length of the place.

Brand new Irish pub situated in the Cains Brewery village. A massive 3 roomed pub. The 3 rooms spread back with a front room housing a central U-shaped bar, a larger middle room housing an island bar and a small rear room housing a spirits only bar. The whole place is bare bricked, stone tiled floored and wooden pillared throughout. Irish themed and it has the look of a cellar bar. 6 handpulls on front room bar, 12 on middle bar and none on rear bar. Beers from Salopian, Kirkstall, Ossett, Purple Moose plus their own Tarmeys beer. Same beers on on middle bar. Assorted fizzlagers also available. By far your best bet for real ale in the whole Brewery Village. Not a bad place and the best in the complex.
