Hazard a guess this will remain the only review of this place on here for some time (or at least until the staff at the Railway Tavern provide a definitive answer on my question of the ultimate fate of the universe). The Hide & Seed is actually the hotel bar on the Lodge Hotel on Upper Richmond Road. As such it is a typical hotel bar other than, at this time of year at least, it has some attractive seating and tables outside the front of the hotel. Attractive here is a relative term for the avoidance of doubt. The bar itself is to the right of the entrance and has a seating / breakfast/ dining area off to the left as you enter the bar and some tables dotted around the bar which faces you as you walk into the bar area. The venue is not in itself unattractive as what I am assuming is a small independent hotel.

Quaffs wise they have Meantime London lager and Guinness on tap with one of those strange mechanisms for delivering the Guinness. Actually they had some interesting beers by bottle and can and I opted for the Black Sheep Ale, which was my first sighting thereof in any form for some time.

Whilst I feel this is a bit more interesting than your average independent hotel bar I can’t rate more than an overall below average score of 4. Saying that it adds to the delight of ticking off random venues on here, some of which I add myself, and some of which (ie this one) have been added by others. All part of the rich tapestry of exploring and experiencing different venues, near and far.
