Nice micro bar in town centre, nicely laid out, bare brick walls, the toilet is a bit Spoonsy in distance and the locals prop the bar to stop service, but good place

We met the owner and a couple of his pals on our visit, who were all friendly and made us very welcome, so stayed a lot longer than anticipated as the chat was good and the beer excellent. The owner as it turns out used to be the manager of the nearby Wig and Pen, until he opened this micropub in Nov 2016. The pub had a choice of six beers all served on handpump, so we went for the Church End Goat's Milk and Three Hills IPA. The Three Hills was exceptional, so generally stuck to that.

This is the first Micro-pub in Northampton and is true to the definition with no music, fruit machines or any mention of food that I could see.Just a few simple tables and chairs were available and these were all taken, there is a beer garden to the rear, but very much a work in progress. Four ales were on , I opted for a Framework Double Chocolate Stout ,there is also some keg beers and a few bottles. Nice to see something a bit different, it was certainly popular.
