As described below, although I must admit I didn't even look at the "wide selection of Craft Beers" from the likes of Tiny Rebel, Lenton Lane, Shiny and Thornbridge. Three cask beers from Castle Rock were available, though there's room on the two sets of five hand pumps for a lot more. I had halves of Preservation and Harvest Pale, both around NBSS 3.5 and priced respectively at £4.60 and £4.30 per pint. The "classic red ale", or brown as normal people might call it, was a bit understated but a very nice drink, while the pale - any debate? - was a bit hop forward, with a hint of sherbet on the swallow, which I have to keep on reminding myself is not a fault. This is a pleasant drinking environment with a rapidly changing clientele, being augmented by new arrivals even in the 20 minutes I was here, but never quite becoming too noisy for comfort.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Yarn
Modern bar for the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall, run by Castle Rock and offering an unexpectedly good selection of craft keg beers from taps on the bar-back plus various cask ales and/or ciders on the counter handpumps. The inside is quite elongated but narrow, but there are also a number of outdoor tables (some of which are under cover). A lot of inactive dispensing devices on my midweek visit, but thankfully Elsie Mo (£4.30) was in great shape.

An ultra modern bar located in the rear of the Theatre Royal and run by Castle Rock. It serves a range of their beers very well, plus two ciders and a guest from North Riding. A long thin curving room joining the foyer of the theatre and it has an outside seating area. Low sensible seating although with low level piped music. There are two banks of five pulls, topped and tailed by three T-Bars of the nation’s favourite kegs. Although a modern place it has a collection of old photos.
