a very welcome addition to Ashton's drinking scene, this is a pleasant modern real ale bar (as opposed to pub). the decor is comfortable if a little characterless with just a bit of contemporary art on one wall- I like my bars more quirky and embracing local culture/history. the girl on the bar was friendly but the place was quiet for a Saturday and I'm glad they opted to play some restrained background music. basic bar snacks available including 'cleaver & keg meat cuts'. this is one for the beer lovers more than the pub lovers but it's definitely the best in downtown Ashton.

Called in here before our 6 monthly visit to Haydock races and found it larger than some of the one roomed micro pubs,with 5 window seats and places for another 40 to sit.Quite a good selection of 7 cask beers plus i think 3 or 4 others on tap.
