Ball Room is a very large first floor pool hall that was reasonably busy during a recent Tuesday early evening visit. The bar area is found adjacent to the entrance where a serving counter faces some very cosy raised bar seating. There are more pool tables than I could count, and I also noted darts, table tennis, snooker tables and televisions throughout for airing Sky Sports. There’s a jukebox, but this was switched off in favour of the bar staff’s own heavy metal music which wasn’t overly loud. The draught options from the bar were Blue Moon, Tennents, Belhaven Best, Birra Moretti, Estrella, Guinness and four flavours of Thatchers cider. The service was very friendly, but this is a sports venue so I don’t think many would visit just for a beer.
