Inside the impressive Masonic Hall this is a bar and performance space. The place is very nicely decorated and the island bar looks great. It's also looks like a great place to see a small band. What's not so great is the selection of things you wouldn't want to drink on the bar and you certainly wouldn't want to pay as much for it as they charge. When asked if they had any cask ale the barmaid said "Yes, we have an IPA" and pointed to a keg tap. Just don't.

UPDATE: now called The Liverpool Arts Bar. Name change only.

15/12/17:
This place has had a bar for Masons for a while but this is the first time its been open to the public. Its a refurbished place and consists of two rooms. The main central room has an island bar in the middle. Its a rather grand looking bar with those uncomfortable deep leather armchairs to one side and slightly less uncomfortable seating to the other. There is a small room to the side which houses a small library. No real ale so you're going to have to settle for extremely overpriced lager-a-likes such as Blue Point lager, Goose Island overpriced, Leffe, Hoegaarden and other assorted beers plus cocktaily nonsense that'll send you rocketing to the poorhouse. You may or may not get it cheaper if you flash your left leg, mumble something in Latin and promise to obey the great god Flooble. Possibly
