The layout remains as Steve describes, below. We went in on Bingo night which felt like a 1970s parody of an old people’s home (“meal for two with a hairy view, number 69! Would the gentlemen at the back like to have a go?” We presume he meant the bingo.) Doombar remains the sole ale offering, and it was in poor-to-average condition but was quite cheap. Definitely one for leaving to the elderly locals.

The Kings Head has a central L-shaped bar that faces seating along the exterior walls to the right and left of the corner entrance. There is a pool table and dartboard at the rear and out the back are steps up to a decked seating area with colourful and twinkly décor. Televisions are located throughout for watching Sky Sports and all the Premier League team flags are wrapped around the base of the bar. The Commonwealth Games was being aired during my recent Tuesday evening visit. This was muted in favour of some background music. The ceiling is lined with thousands of fairy lights, which were thankfully switched off.
Beer wise there’s a solitary handpump that was drawing Sharp’s Doom Bar. There is also a standard keg option alongside Staropramen. The service was polite and I found this pub to be a reasonable considering the competition.
