Weird place which. like others, I had difficulty finding, and having found it had to pay cash. My initial purchase was Dune Buggy by Northdown but this proved to be undrinkable for me - much more like a sour than a session IPA as advertised - on returning it I was asked if I didn't like citrussy beers (I do, but...). This was exchanged for a Kent Quiet American, but the quality/flavour of the first beer left a bad taste in more ways than one. There were a good number of customers in the place, and it's got a slightly odd layout but I would consider returning.

Near impossible to find unless you are looking for it. It is in the cellar of a Masonic Hall, advertised only by a small swinging A-Frame at the top of steep metal steps.
Where the first sign you see is "Cash Only".
Can't really understand this, especially when the nearest cache machine is a distance away, where all the competition for your pint dollar exists.
As it was empty, I could see now reason to retrace my steps. Despite the Airconditioning!
Good Beer Guide 2026 - so I will send this tick for VAR review.

Horrific entrance outside and steep steps down to the bar and, with the bar area at the back propped up with locals it wasn't a good start. But its a nice cavern room, well set out and is friendlier than you first believe and good beer
