Sitting in the Brown Cow opposite I spotted live sports advertised on the exterior of Bar Tat. This was on a Friday afternoon in December after The World Darts Championship had just started so I decided to switch venues to see some tungsten action. I tried the door at the front, but it was locked. I was about to give up when a kind gentleman who was emerging from the shop informed me that the entrance was around the other side, which it was. After climbing the stairs to this first floor bar it was a matter of seconds after hearing Warick Davis’s voice that I realised I had been hoodwinked. No live sports, just Tenable! I had just left a pub that was pouring delicious Titanic Plum Porter to find myself supping on a Surger Guinness. There was one other customer who was drinking a generic lager from the limited keg range. There were some other customers, but they were in the members only section where the 5x pool tables and dartboards are housed. The service was friendly, but drinking a can of Guinness in a small bar with the blinds drawn watching daytime quizzes isn’t my bag.
