A bigger place internally than I was expecting yet I was in luck to grab the last small table available on a busy Saturday afternoon. The four cask ales on were Tonbridge Coppernob, Arbour ZZ Hop, Brass Castle Best and Stay Wild Kalanaro, also on handpump was Charrington's Earls Reserve Cider. A vast range of craft and continental beer was thrown into the mix with in total 24 keg taps and fonts.
A must visit when in town.

Excellent cask choice with 6 hand pumps with the 4 bitters being Tonbridge Copperknob, Twisted Oak Spun Gold, Oakham Scarlet Macaw and my choice of the Kent Brewery Local Hero plus two ciders, namely Pilot from Ascension and Hogan’s French Revelation. Loads of keg choices, probably hard to imagine anywhere providing a larger and more varied range. A range of Oktoberfest choices during my visit.

Venue is a rectangular venue with light wood floorboards and a high ceiling with suspended bulbs apart from the shaded bulbs over the bar counter in the back right hand corner of the venue. There are a couple of tables with leather benches in the front window but other than that seating is via regular tables and chairs or some high tables with stools or high-backed leather stools. There were some Burning Sky posters on the chalkboard wall at the front of the venue and a chalkboard on the wall inside the right-hand side of the venue announcing OFest and an end of each month quiz. The manager was extremely knowledgeable about other decent watering holes in the Tonbridge area! My advice to him was he already presides over one of the very best beer destinations in the wide area and it is a must-do venue in Tonbridge along with the Nelson Arms.

Sister branch to the established Tunbridge Wells 'beer café', this was the start of the pub renaissance of the town in 2017... This former shop near the top end of the high street has been converted into an attractive modern bar with a high ceiling and generally light furniture and decor. The counter and bar-back dominate the space, featuring six handpumps and an impressive array of 16 craft keg taps respectively. Four real ales were available as usual on this visit, with the regular Tonbridge Coppernob, Saltaire's Busy Living, Bissoe from Verdant and the one-off cask version of the '13% Belgian Royal Stout' known as Black Albert from the De Struise brewery in Belgium (£6.00, half, but worth every penny) plus a couple of ciders from the six handpumps. As good as ever.
