This has to be one of the more unusual micropubs I have visited. It is located adjacent to the village's free car park and the single room is approached by a narrow corridor. The upstairs appears to be used as a barbers.
They don't have a license for children. So, I made use of a bench overlooking the car park, as I had my son in tow. Just the solitary real ale was on. This was Grainstore Rutland Osprey, which was served by gravity direct from the cask behind the bar. Boxed real ciders were in a fridge. These were Gwynt y Ddraig Black Dragon, Lilley's Mango Cider & Farmer Jim's Rhubarb Bob.
With friendly staff and patrons, I would recommend a visit, if you ever find yourself in Earls Barton.

Called in while on a coach trip round Northamptonshire pubs, and found a friendly microbar serving Phipps Diamond Ale and Wadworth Horizon. There were about half a dozen in there early Saturday evening.

A decent sized micropub that was a former photographers studio. The entrance to this micro is via the main front door, which is shared with a barbers upstairs, you then proceed along the hallway and through the door on the right. The interior of this micro was a good size and looked to be two rooms knocked into one. The bar area is situated in the back room and faces you as you enter. It had a fairly long counter and the beer was dispensed from gravity behind the bar. The front area had a very welcoming open fire and a good selection of modern style sofas, along with some tables and chairs. The main feature over the fireplace was an Aberdeen Angus head crafted from various materials and rope twine for its head of hair. Large brass spot lamps around the walls also added another feature, to this pub. Three beers on stillage, two from Milestone Loxley Ale 4.2% and Shine On 4% and a Cross Bay Halo. I went for the Milestone Loxley Ale, which was bland in flavour and quite flat being served straight from the cask, priced at £3.60 a pint, not worth it in my opinion. Surprisingly we were the only two customers in here, on our Saturday afternoon visit. Maybe they all venture out later on in the evening around here. I think I might have enjoyed my visit better if they had some locales on and served from handpump.
