Steve C left this review about Sanctuary
The Sanctuary is a single room pub with seating to the left and a bar counter to the right where two of the four hand pumps were in operation drawing Brain’s Rev James and Salopian’s Lemon Dream, the latter being a bit wishy washy. I spotted a piano, and on the wall facing the entrance is an angry donkey’s head (not real). I wouldn’t go out of my way to revisit.

A homely sort of place and glad to say the place was nice and warm on our recent Thursday afternoon visit, as it was a particularly cold day. The pub wasn't that busy on our visit around 4pm, but on our way back from the Greyhound around 5 all the seating space was taken up as we passed the door. Five handpumps with three in use on our visit, serving Northern Powerhouse Gold, Little Gritters Python and Little Critters Malty Python. We went for the Powerhouse Gold, which was in good condition and cost £3.10 a pint. They also had a choice of three ciders and a couple of craft lagers.

Opened in August 2016 this Café conversion was standing room only when we entered on the early Friday evening of the last knockings of the Pubs Galore crawl of NuL and when its full of life you can see why it has warranted one of CAMRA potteries pub of the month awards. The four hand pumps on the bar were indeed dispensing Lymestone Stone Cutter, Brewhouse Side Kick and a good Purple Moose Elderflower and then Old Rosie Cider on the fourth one with two additional doubled pump clips advertising more ciders which were available from polypins in the fridge.
And in keeping with these new establishments an extensive range of artisan gins on the bar shelves and bottled and canned craft beers in the fridge and I noticed some interesting offerings from Arrogant Bastard and Brutal Brewing alongside some of the usual suspects such as Brewdog and Bevertown.
This and the Artisan tap opposite certainly warrant an excursion further down the Hartshill Road and am happy to report that for our visit the bar staff were cheerful and smiley and it’s a big shame Will wasn’t still around to see it.
