Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Alchemist

Upmarket restaurant and bar in part of the imposing former Grand Hotel edifice, with swish furniture / decor and attentive service. Also has a basement bar with a larger counter and some tables out on the front pavement under awnings. The drinks offering is almost totally cocktails, but there are a limited number of other drinks available.

Very busy on my Saturday afternoon visit. Could hardly see the bar so settled for a Heineken. Very smart inside with people drinking a weird and wonderful array of cocktails.
