A well-presented and well-run micropub. The beer barrels are stillaged in a glass fronted cabinet behind the bar, and are hauled into position using an electric winch. The bar counter seems to have been constructed from an old dresser, with cupboard doors, drawers and rows of hooks! There's comfortable room for about 20 people, with settles or pews at Britannia tables, and a sofa and arm chair near the window; there's an overflow seating area downstairs for another dozen. There's a bar downstairs too, which is only used for brewery takeovers. There was some soul music on the sound system at tolerable volume, and the owner was happy to talk, despite recovering from a busy Saturday night. My half of Great Heck Navigation IPA was spot on. Pricewise: cheaper than the Stod Fold, about the same as the Victorian Cafe and slightly dearer than Grayston Unity. I liked it here and would happily return.

A neat looking micropub with a, no doubt, reclaimed fireplace to the right. A couple of comfy chairs and three tables in the upstairs area. There's more seating downstairs, but I didn't visit as I had a seat on a barstool and didn't want to lose it. Friendly barman was up for a chat as it wasn't that busy on my Friday, late afternoon visit. My pint of Nomadic Tramp was in very good nick and there was plenty of choice across the 6 handpumps. I liked it in here and will be visiting again soon.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Pump Room II
A good sized Micro Pub with 6 cask and 5 craft keg. The pub was busy on our Wednesday night visit, all of which were blokes, apart from Mrs A and the barmaid. In spite of the barmaid being on her own running the bar, she still gave a friendly welcome and was patient when I was choosing a beer. The pub was comfortable and had a good atmosphere. I went for the Exit 33 Blonde, same colour hair as the barmaid. My only gripe was the price, £3.40 a pint, a tad too dear in my opinion for a micro.
