It was heaving in here when I visited on a recent Saturday evening. There is a small bar towards the rear in the left hand side of the pub and to the right is the larger Minstrel Bar where a band was set up. I got the feeling that live music is a regular occurrence in here. There is a pool table by the entrance and karaoke is advertised for Mondays alongside the weekly quiz which occurs on Tuesdays. Upstairs there is another bar and a balcony overlooks the stage area where the band was set up on the ground floor. I spotted a large plasma screen that was showing Match of the Day, but I do not recall any Sky Sports advertisements. During the live music interval some loud 80s/90s music was playing.
The bar is stocked with standard draught and one of the three hand pumps was unused leaving Topsail and Hobgoblin as the ale options. Food is available during the day and the prices for the pub grub are on a par with other pubs in the area.
Out the front there is a large paved seating area covered by six jumbrellas and a children’s play area.
There are better pubs in Paignton.

been in there over the years, was last in 1st week of july, crap beer, sticky carpets, full of ignorant underage foreign students so nothing has improved much

Live bands, throbbing music, full of kids and sticky carpets.
There is some draft bass, but you need to have had a few to go in. Good fun though and a late licence.
